Weather discussion – Tuesday 9/4, 4:00 PM ET:The biggest focal point on the upcoming race weekend forecast for RIR is the Saturday night forecast. Presently, the forecast models continue to show a weak front slowing approaches Richmond on Saturday, though it is forecast to slow as it moves across Virginia. This would bring an increased chance for showers and thunderstorms that night. For now, we’re going to go with the risk of rain in the forecast but hope it can be removed as the weekend approaches. But as usual, plan for rain and you’ll be prepared.
