On Monday afternoon (April 5), Rahal Letterman Langian Racing announced Santino Ferrucci will be competing in this year’s Indianapolis 500 for the race team.

Running the Indy 500 will be Ferrucci’s first dip back into IndyCar racing since shifting his attention to NASCAR, competing in a part-time schedule with Sam Hunt Racing.

In four Xfinity Series starts this season, Ferrucci has an average finish of 18.2, but is on a streak of three consecutive top-15 efforts. His next dabble into NASCAR won’t come until late June at Pocono Raceway.

Last year, Ferrucci placed fourth in the Indy 500, and has a rookie in 2019 finished seventh. He will drive the No. 45 car, sponsored by Hy-Vee.
