Early Friday morning (May 21), 2000 Xfinity Series champion Jeff Green sent out a tweet that got the NASCAR community talking — he’s officially retiring from NASCAR.

Dating back to 1990, Green competed in 815 NASCAR races across the top three NASCAR national touring series, winning 16 Xfinity Series events. Between 1999 and 2001, he never finished lower than second in Xfinity points.
For the last decade, Green primarily became a start-and-park driver, first with TriStar Motorsports, then RSS Racing. When he did run a complete race, Green scored four top-10 finishes since 2016, including both races at Daytona International Speedway in 2019. At Talladega Superspeedway in 2017, he earned BJ McLeod Motorsports its first top-10 finish as a company, coming at Talladega Superspeedway.
Last year, Green transitioned into the crew chief role at RSS Racing for 25 races. His last race as a crew chief was last weekend at Dover International Speedway in Kyle Sieg’s series debut. In all six of Sieg’s ARCA starts this season (between ARCA, ARCA East and ARCA West), it was Green atop the pit box.
Green told Jayski he had a “very blessed” career.
