With the NASCAR community honoring the military this weekend for Memorial Day weekend, Bayley Currey and Mike Harmon Racing will have the name of Danny P. Dietz riding above the passenger door on the No. 74 for Saturday’s Alsco Uniforms 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Dietz, who was native to Colorado, was a U.S. Navy SEAL. On Sept. 13, 2006, he was awarded the United States’ second highest citation for valor, the Navy Cross. He also received a Silver Star Medal and Purple Heart Medal.

Having Dietz’s name on board the No. 74 Chevrolet draws a personal connection to Mike Harmon Racing. One of the team members is good friends with the Dietz family and decided to honor Danny at Charlotte.
