The Indianapolis 500 was run with 135,000 fans in attendance, roughly 40-percent seating capacity.

As the Indianapolis Motor Speedway moves on from the “500” and onto the next event on their calendar, they are getting final preparations in place for the Verizon 200 at the Brickyard (formerly known as the Brickyard 400.)

IMS President Doug Boles says that as of right now, there are no plans to have any kind of COVID restrictions in place for the race.

“I‘m really hopeful that there are no restrictions,” Boles said. “But, even if we were in a 40-percent capacity restriction, like we were for the 500, that‘s still 135,000 people and really in the last several years for Brickyard weekend we don‘t come close to that.”
