NASCAR will not use the PJ1 traction compound this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, reports Fox Sports reporter Bob Pockrass. Initially, NASCAR was to put the compound down following the Xfinity Series race on Saturday, but decided against its use throughout the weekend due to potential weather.

Last New Hampshire Cup race without traction compound was 2016. Used 2017-2020. Won’t be used this weekend — didn’t want to apply it before modified race and with weather iffy, unsure whether they could and my guess is they wanted Cup teams to not have to guess as far as setup. https://t.co/HADTO10Kva
