Josh Bilicki and Rick Ware Racing announced today that Chesterfield Auto Parts will partner with the team at the NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway on September 11th, 2021.  With the race falling on the 20th anniversary of 9/11, Bilicki and his new partner will honor and remember the first responders who lost their lives on that tragic day with a paint scheme that is based off of the the Richmond, Virginia fire truck’s design.

Chesterfield Auto Parts is a locally owned Auto recycling business that has been in Richmond for nearly 75 years. As the third generation owner, Troy Webber is proud to keep up his family‘s long tradition of helping the community by working closely with the Richmond City Fire Department to help train new firefighters and practice vehicle extrication techniques.

“Although I was very young when 9/11 took place, I remember the day pretty clearly,” says Bilicki. “We partnered with Chesterfield Auto Parts and wanted to do something special for this race because it falls on the 20th anniversary of that tragic day, so we are making the car look like a fire truck to honor and remember the first responders who lost their lives that day.  Additionally, we will be auctioning off our Chesterfield Auto Parts race suit from the Richmond race and giving all proceeds to a the Richmond Fire Department Foundation.”

“Like most American‘s, I watched the events of 9/11 in horror,” says Troy Webber, President of Chesterfield Auto Parts.  “I knew life and the world as I knew it would never be the same again. That day 20 years ago had a huge impact on me, and I am glad for the chance to partner with Josh and honor the legacy of the fallen heroes who lost their lives on 9/11. I am also proud that we can honor the brave men and women of the Richmond City Fire Department who risk their lives every day to keep this city safe.”

This will not be the first time that Bilicki has honored first responders with a special paint scheme on his racecar.  At Martinsville in October of 2020, Bilicki and his sponsor, Insurance King, wrapped their car to look like a police car to honor and remember the police officers who lost their lives in 2020.

“With so much negativity and hate in this world, we often forget that first responders often risk their lives for us, and some even pay the ultimate sacrifice” says Bilicki. “This is just us using our platform to show our appreciation.  Thank you.”

The NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway will take place on Saturday, September 11th at 6:30PM ET and will be televised live on NBCSN.
