For the first time since 2018, Harrison Rhodes will compete in a NASCAR race, coming in next Saturday’s Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner 300 Xfinity Series race at Daytona International Speedway.
Sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to Jayski.com on Saturday (Feb. 12) that Rhodes will drive the No. 52 Chevrolet at Daytona, as well as the three west coast races at Auto Club Speedway (Feb. 26), Las Vegas Motor Speedway (March 5) and Phoenix Raceway (March 12).
Rhodes last competed in the Xfinity Series in the 2017 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway for JD Motorsports. In 84 series starts, the North Carolina native has a pair of top-10 results, both coming at Daytona. His best effort is a ninth-place finish in 2015.
In 2018, Rhodes made his Cup Series debut for Rick Ware Racing in the second race of the year at Atlanta Motor Speedway, placing 33rd. In six Cup starts that year, he earned a best result of 22nd.
During the 2021 Xfinity Series season, Jimmy Means Racing’s No. 52 entry finished 39th in the owner’s standings, making 28 starts.
Tim Brown will return to the team to crew chief Rhodes.
