For the first time since 2014, JD Motorsports will field just two cars in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season, team owner Johnny Davis confirmed to Jayski.com.

Bayley Currey, who announced in late December he would run the full season for JDM, will drive the No. 4 Chevrolet. Ryan Vargas will be the full-time driver of the No. 6 entry, entering his second full season with the organization.

Last season, Vargas ran 29 of 33 races last year, earning a best finish of 16th at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Currey competed in 24 races in 2021, including six of the seven playoff races for JDM.

Wayne Carroll will crew chief Currey‘s effort, with Kase Kallenbach leading the No. 6 team.

Davis stated he’s open to running a third part-time entry, fielding the No. 0 Chevrolet. Jeffrey Earnhardt, who drove the No. 0 car the last two years, departed JDM for a partial schedule with Sam Hunt Racing.

Recently, Jesse Iwuji Motorsports purchased JDM’s points from its fourth entry from last year, which was the No. 15 Chevrolet.
