The Duel Races at Daytona are like family reunions. They can be quiet, laid-back events that are enjoyable but not anything to get worked up over. Or, they can be a rip-roaring, hold-on-to-your-beverage-and-take-an-extra-blood-pressure-pill extravaganza. On Thursday evening, with the exception of the very last lap of the second race, these were kinder, gentler races, where the guys in the body shop could cut out early for the most part. Along with sparkling cars and cool tempers to experience, there were commercials to watch. For those who like to know precisely how many there were, and how much time they took during the broadcast, here is this week‘s breakdown.
