An oft-expressed phrase used by the NASCAR commentators during Sunday‘s Cup pre-race at the Glen was, “There are so many unknowns.” After all, the sky was nearly black as the race began, and the possibility of Cup cars on rain tires during a wild monsoon had fans and racing experts buzzing. While some large puddles proved that rain tires are not always helpful, and even though the sun had the nerve to try to come out, an exciting race was held nonetheless. Fans watching from home got to see all of that, as well as commercials.
