For a second straight week we have co-favorites. This marks the first time this season that sportsbooks have had co-favorites to win back to back races. This week they‘re backing Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch.

Hamlin and Busch are given +650 odds, or an implied 13.3% chance to win the race. In total five drivers are given at least a 10% chance to win this week. Those include Kyle Larson, +800, and Chase Elliott. For a second straight week Martin Truex Jr., who missed the playoff cutoff, is among the favorites to win the race as well at +900.

Meanwhile, the current playoff leader Joey Logano is given +2000 odds to win the race placing him just outside the top-10 on the market. William Byron, who sits 2nd on the leaderboard, is also given +2000 odds. Last week‘s winner, Erik Jones, is given +5000 odds to get a second straight win.

Quote from OddsChecker spokesman Kyle Newman, “Last week Erik Jones became just the second driver who missed the playoff cutoff to win a playoff race since the field expanded to 16 drivers. That‘s opened the door for drivers like Truex, Bubba Wallace, and Ty Gibbs, as all three have better odds than at least one playoff driver this week.  It‘s no longer a sure thing that a playoff driver gets the victory, and that‘s got sportsbooks reevaluating how they set the odds for these races.”
