The Fiesta Bowl Organization is naming Erik Moses as its next Exec Dir & CEO, giving him oversight of the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl and Guaranteed Rate Bowl, among other responsibilities. He‘ll replace Mike Nealy, who stepped down as Exec Dir in March after eight years in the role. Moses will begin with the organization on Dec. 1, taking meetings during the month with staff, observing operations and setting up relationships during bowl season. He will take the reins of the organization on Jan. 1, the day after the Fiesta Bowl plays host to one of the CFP semifinals.
Moses comes to Arizona from Nashville Superspeedway, where he has been serving as track President & GM since August 2020. Moses at the time became the first Black man to rise to the role of president of a NASCAR track. Prior to Nashville, Moses was XFL D.C. Defenders President. He also has bowl game experience from his time as CEO of the DC Sports & Entertainment Commission, where he oversaw the creation of the annual Military Bowl and the AT&T Nation‘s Football Classic (a game matching up HBCUs). Moses also had a stint as Events DC SVP, which saw him manage venues such as RFK Stadium and the Entertainment & Sports Arena (home to the WNBA‘s Mystics and NBA G League‘s Go-Go). TurnkeyZRG assisted the Fiesta Bowl Organization in its search.
