Headed into the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series Season, Ryan Vargas will join the newly-rebranded CHK Racing as the Anchor Driver for the team‘s No. 74 Chevrolet Camaro, as well as serve as a consultant for the team‘s restructuring.

“I‘m really excited to be joining CHK Racing this season,” says Vargas. “This undeniably is going to be a big year for this organization, and I look forward to serving a role that goes beyond driving the car. I‘m excited to assist with helping the team in our reorganization and hopefully leading them into a new, competitive era. With the newfound support from Gary Keller and Mike Clayton along with Mike‘s old-school racer mindset, I fully anticipate a swing for the better both on and off the track.”

“The work done internally already has been great to see, and I‘m excited to be a part of helping this team make the steps necessary to build into competitive form,” Vargas Continues.

“This is more than an opportunity behind the wheel for me, it‘s an opportunity to play a personal role in a project that everyone involved cares about. That is special.”

Vargas and CHK Racing are even more excited to welcome two sponsors to the team for Daytona. Léargas Security and Williamsburg Contracting, LLC will join CHK Racing at the 2023 season-opener at Daytona International Speedway. Léargas Security is a platform that brings a proactive approach to threat detection and response. Williamsburg Contracting, LLC is Williamsburg Virginia‘s premier custom masonry and concrete company, providing the highest quality masonry materials at an affordable price.

Léargas Security states, “When Patrick and Jim learned of the opportunity to sponsor Ryan at Daytona, they couldn‘t pass it up. After his outstanding performance in 2022 and in the offseason, they remain committed to their driver.”

Previously it was announced that the former Mike Harmon Racing would be changed to CHK Racing, Clayton Harmon Keller Racing. This new partnership will allow Mike Harmon, Gary Keller and Mike Clayton Sr to be committed to improved results in competition and business operations. Mike (Harmon) will continue to oversee day-to-day operations, while Gary and Mike (Clayton Sr.) will work to improve business management and marketing.
