SciAps, Inc. is teaming up with Emerling-Gase Motorsports and NASCAR driver CJ McLaughlin for the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series. For McLaughlin‘s season opener at Daytona International Speedway on February 18, SciAps will be car number 35. For the remainder of the season, fans can follow SciAps in car 53.
SciAps and Emerling-Gase Motorsports are ready for a successful year.
“2023 is going to be a busy year of racing. We‘re excited to work with CJ and SciAps for the NASCAR Xfinity Series,” says Patrick Emerling.
Having earned spots in 18 races on the calendar (a near full-season schedule) could mean all the difference to McLaughlin at this point in his career.
“Now, being able to race week after week will make a huge difference,” he says. Looking back over the past four years as he worked his way up, he says “It was tough being out of a car for a month and then having to shake the dust off in the ten minutes of practice we have to try to qualify.”
SciAps first joined the Xfinity series by sponsoring NASCAR driver and their Northeast sales representative CJ McLaughlin in 2019. In 2022, McLaughlin had his best season yet with multiple top 25 finishes and his first top ten finish at Texas Motor Speedway.
“It was incredible. I literally came from nothing. These past four years, with COVID mixed in, have been tough, but I‘ve been fortunate to have SciAps backing me continuously year after year and giving me the opportunity to improve. Every race has been teaching me to stay calm under pressure and to be consistent lap after lap,” McLaughlin says.
Everyone involved is looking forward to a year of on-track excitement with a dedicated, hard-working team and driver, and SciAps customers attending races to join the fun.
“We‘re really excited to be racing with Emerling-Gase Motorsports. They‘re a great team, and we look forward to having our customers enjoy the racing experience firsthand with pit and garage passes. We‘re also pleased to be running our ‘NASCAR Sponsor Experience‘ promotion to raise money for a number of our industry trade association educational funds,” says Don Sackett, CEO of SciAps.
SciAps leads global innovation in handheld LIBS and XRF technology. SciAps driver, CJ McLaughlin, is not only fast on the track but also came to SciAps with a degree in mechanical engineering and experience with NDT/PMI field work. Teaming up with SciAps has given him the opportunity not only to pursue his passion for racing but also to work with SciAps customers in the Northeast and develop strong ties through racing and the scrap recycling industry.
