Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) is the leading racing and automotive performance facility in Canada. And more than that, now it is a unique entertainment venue, suitable for most any occasion. In addition to our major international races, we have hosted events ranging from corporate needs to fashion shows, to weddings. Our state-of-the-art facilities offer the flexibility and capacity to accommodate any event.
From there to here
The original facility, named Mosport Park, was built in 1961 – a world-class professional racing circuit that attracted major international races to the Toronto area. It was, and still is, sited on more than 900 acres of beautiful rolling hills in the heart of Ontario’s Durham Region, just an hour’s drive from downtown Toronto. Mosport hosted the first-ever Formula One Canadian Grand Prix in 1967, and over the years it’s been on the schedules of most major international series, including Can-Am, Trans-Am, Formula 5000, IMSA, Indy Car, and World Sports Car Championship.
In 2011, Mosport Park was purchased by Canadian Motorsport Ventures Ltd. (CMVL), which was established for that purpose by Carlo Fidani and partners Ron and Lynda Fellows. CMVL has invested heavily in the infrastructure, circuit enhancements and spectator facilities, and today Canadian Tire Motorsport Park offers new, exciting opportunities for fans, corporate partners, and drivers.
Our facility comprises three professional-grade race tracks: the world-renowned Grand Prix Circuit (host to our major events), the Driver Development Track (a multi-purpose testing facility), and the newly renovated and reconfigured Karting Centre (designed to develop the next generation of Canadian racing drivers).
CTMP’s calendar of world-class events attracts over 500,000 visitors annually. Our racing events include series ranging from the high-tech machines of international sports car racing to fender-rubbing NASCAR action.
Our state-of-the-art complex also features a spectacular 23,000-square-foot Event Centre that overlooks the Grand Prix Circuit, and provides a panoramic view down to Lake Ontario. The Event Centre can be transformed into a variety of multi-functional rooms for any occasion, from race hospitality suites to conferences, exhibitions, and smaller-scale meetings.
We offer everything from family-friendly camping, corporate entertaining in our trackside VIP suites, and exhilarating karting or track days, to the on-track thrills of performance GM vehicles in the Ron Fellows Driving Experience, hosted by the Fellows family.
Race fans can experience all the exciting action of major-league racing, in a facility with the layout, amenities and services that the whole family will enjoy.
Corporations can entertain clients, reward employees, host media events, or launch new products. Our outstanding team of event staff, instructors and caterers is ready to help transform a corporate marketing vision into dynamic reality.
