NASCAR Weekend Forecast Discussion

A broad upper-level ridge expanding eastward across the southern United States will provide favorable racing conditions at Talladega Superspeedway throughout the NASCAR weekend. Surface high pressure will maintain dry conditions, generally clear skies and light winds. Afternoon temperatures will reach the middle 70s Sunday, with cool mornings in the 40s.

A strengthening cool-air wedge east of the Appalachians may bring slightly lower temperatures during the weekend despite the expanding ridge aloft. Rainfall is not expected, and only a modest increase in winds is anticipated. Weather-related interruptions to qualifying and racing appear highly unlikely.
