F1 Weather Forecast Discussion
A broad, cool-season trough is in place over the western U.S., with Las Vegas sitting on the eastern flank of the trough with relatively weak west–southwest flow aloft. A shortwave embedded in this larger-scale trough helps keep mid- and high-level cloud cover in place Thursday into Friday, while modest surface pressure rises to the north maintain a cooler-than-average air mass over the Mojave. Temperatures remain suppressed Thursday and Friday due to persistent cloud cover and weak mixing; this caps high temps below normal levels.
By Saturday, the upper-level pattern will shift east and a mid-level ridge begins to expand across Nevada. This allows a gradual moderation of temperatures and a more stable atmosphere, while moisture and any atmospheric lift will focus south of Las Vegas. The net effect is a trend from cool and mostly cloudy toward milder and partly sunny by the weekend, with only a narrow window for light showers Friday.

More about the Las Vegas Grand Prix
The Las Vegas Grand Prix, part of the Formula One World Championship, takes place on a temporary street circuit that winds through the iconic Las Vegas Strip. The circuit spans approximately 6.2 km, with 17 turns, and the race is run over 50 laps.
Launched in 2023, it marked Formula 1’s return to Las Vegas and the United States as the first night-street race on the Strip. The inaugural 2023 edition featured a thrilling finish, with Max Verstappen claiming victory after a dramatic battle, despite being handed a time penalty early in the race. At the 2024 event, while Verstappen sealed his fourth world championship, it was George Russell who took the race win for Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team, finishing ahead of his teammate Lewis Hamilton in a 1-2 for the team.
Beyond the action on track, the Las Vegas Grand Prix has become a major spectacle — blending motorsport, nightlife and cityscape illumination — and has had a significant economic impact on the region. (AutoRacing1.com)
In summary: the Las Vegas Grand Prix is a high-octane, glitzy addition to the Formula 1 calendar, combining street-race drama with the unique backdrop of Las Vegas, and has quickly become a must-watch event.
