More about the WWT Raceway
Located just east of St. Louis in Madison, Illinois, World Wide Technology Raceway is one of the most distinctive oval tracks on the NTT INDYCAR SERIES schedule. The 1.25-mile asphalt oval features an egg-shaped layout with different corner radii at each end, often drawing comparisons to Darlington Raceway. The unique geometry creates multiple racing grooves and places a premium on driver adaptability, especially during long green-flag runs.
The facility has hosted top-level open-wheel competition since the CART era in the late 1990s and returned to the INDYCAR schedule in 2017 after a lengthy absence. Since then, the track has become a fan favorite, particularly for its dramatic night races held under the lights.
Beyond the oval, the complex includes a drag strip, road course, karting facility, and other motorsports venues, making it one of the Midwest's premier racing destinations. The Bommarito Automotive Group 500 continues a tradition of high-speed, side-by-side racing in the St. Louis region.
