Staff Biographies
Dr. Aaron Studwell completed his PhD in Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Houston. His research focused on planetary atmospheres, specifically, Saturn’s global-scale dynamics and long-term patterns.
After completing his doctoral work, Dr. Studwell founded ExoConsulting in Norman, Oklahoma. He has over twenty years of experience in energy weather, motorsports, and marine forecasting, along with air quality meteorology. Aaron was one of the first meteorologists in the energy trading sector, working in senior research and forecasting roles. In 2003, he founded RaceWeather providing accurate forecasts and timely race weekend updates to the NASCAR community. Before returning to academia full-time in 2019, he was the Marine Team Lead for DTN-Wilkens Weather, where he oversaw the company’s marine forecasting operations in their Houston, Texas office.
Aaron graduated from Texas A&M University with a Master of Science in Meteorology and from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering. He holds active memberships in the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Society, & the North American Society of Sports Management.

Connor joined RaceWeather in February 2024. He is working on his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Texas A&M University. His responsibilities will include forecasting for the IMSA race series, maintaining the RaceWeather site, and developing social media content to inform our followers. Additionally, he will provide updated weather information during race weekends.
From a young age, he has fostered a love for both meteorology and auto racing. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports, sim-racing, and fishing. He is excited to join RaceWeather and to better himself as a Meteorologist.
Connor Baldwin

Chase joined RaceWeather in February 2024. His responsibilities will include forecasting for the Formula 1 race series, maintaining the RaceWeather site, and developing unique weather-focused media content to engage our viewers. Additionally, he will provide live weather conditions for the race weekends.
Chase is a senior at Texas A&M University from Lantana, Texas, preparing to graduate with a bachelor's degree in meteorology in May. He has always had a passion for the weather and is ecstatic that his dreams are coming true. Chase is an avid hunter, outdoorsman, and Formula 1 fan. He is excited to join our team and learn more about atmospheric sciences and their impact on motorsports.
Steve has provided tailored forecasts for INDYCAR series races through his “Indycar Weatherman” twitter account (@Indycar_Wxman) since 2012, providing his followers site-specific weather information and timely updates with a focus on operational impacts to track and event activities.
Steve graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor in Science in Meteorology in 2000 and has over 20 years of forecasting and leadership experience in the meteorological career field to include aviation, resource protection, tropical, climate, and space weather products and support for locations around the world.
He also previously served as an advisory board member to the University of Arizona’s Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences department. He currently resides in Tampa, FL.
