Women in Sports Events (WISE) Arizona honored Phoenix Raceway President Latasha Causey Wednesday night as the recipient of the Inspiring Sports Executive of the Year Award at the WISE Arizona Women of Inspiration Gala.
“It is hard to think of someone more deserving of this award than Latasha Causey,” said Chip Wile, NASCAR Senior Vice President and Chief Track Properties Officer. “Latasha‘s work at Phoenix Raceway is nothing short of inspirational, and she‘s making a tremendous difference within the community and our sport.”
A longtime native of the West Valley and former community development executive, Causey took leadership over Phoenix Raceway at the end of 2022 and became the first female African American track president in NASCAR history. She continues to serve as a founding member of the NASCAR Accelerators host committee while also acting as a member of the Boy and Girls Clubs of the Valley Board of Directors, and Vice Chair of the Valley of the Sun United Way.
Her Inspiring Sports Executive of the Year Award from WISE Arizona joins a collection of other notable distinguishments, including being named one of the Most Influential Women in Arizona by AZ Big Media in 2021 and being chosen as a 2018 Outstanding Women in Business honoree by the Phoenix Business Journal. She was also featured in Frontdoors Magazine for her philanthropic accomplishments in 2017.
Founded in 2018, WISE Arizona carries out the WISE mission by facilitating meaningful connections among local industry professionals and offering programming, events and valuable networking opportunities in the area throughout the year. WISE — Women in Sports and Events — is the leading voice and resource for women in the business of sports.
