Summary: On Friday, an upper-level ridge will dominate the plains region with a surface high pressure sitting over the Northern Plains. This will lead to calm conditions throughout the day. On Saturday, a weak trough starts to move across the plains. This trough will destabilize the atmosphere throughout the day and allow for some scattered showers & thunderstorms. On Sunday, the trough axis will pass through the region in the morning, pushing the precipitation to the east before the afternoon. We will continue to update the forecast throughout the week.
