Fri Aug 11 – HEAT ADVISORY FROM 12 PM TO 8 PM. Mostly sunny, strong to severe thunderstorms possible late afternoon into the evening with strong winds and large hail being the main concern. Chance of rain 40% between 7 PM and 3 AM. High around 97°F. Heat index around 105°F. Winds south 5-10 mph.

Surface low pressure is located over Minnesota, producing a weak boundary across northeastern Kansas. This will move east toward Heartland Motorsports Park and set the stage for scattered thunderstorms tonight. These storms can be strong to severe with winds around 60 to 70 mph and large hail being the main concern.
