Now just three weeks until Throwback Weekend at Darlington Raceway, throwback schemes are being unveiled at a rapid pace. The most recent one belongs to Brandon Gdovic and Sam Hunt Racing.
Gdovic, who will be making his first start at Darlington, will honor Kyle Petty’s 1997 Hot Wheels paint scheme. That season, Petty recorded a pair of top-five finishes and nine top 10s in 32 races. He had a best finish of third.
In two starts this season, Gdovic has a best finish of eighth at Daytona International Speedway. But in seven races, Sam Hunt Racing has just one finish outside the top 20.
