Just one day after announcing that he is moving to the Truck Series in 2022, and one day prior to the Go Bowling 250 at Richmond Raceway, Colby Howard was released from driving duties with Johnny Davis Motorsports with Gary Keller in the Xfinity Series. JDM announced that Bayley Currey would be driving the #15 Chevrolet at Richmond this weekend.

“Johnny Davis would like to thank Bayley for coming aboard on such short notice while we continue to figure out the roster for the #15 seat for the remainder of the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season,” the team said in a statement.

Howard competed in 21 races in the #15 this season, with a best finish of 15th at Phoenix Raceway in the spring.

Howard also posted to social media about the split, saying, “Won’t be in the #15 anymore. Didn’t have much of a choice.”
