Carquest Auto Parts, the automotive parts retailer owned by Advance Auto Parts, Team Penske and reigning NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) champion Austin Cindric will represent the American Heart Association at the NXS race at Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday, Oct. 2.

The American Heart Association logo will be featured on the TV Panel of Cindric‘s No. 22 Carquest Ford Mustang during the race weekend.

This race day partnership is part of Carquest‘s ongoing initiative with the American Heart Association. From now until Oct. 15 at participating Carquest locations, customers and race fans are encouraged to donate a custom amount at the register to the American Heart Association. Campaign donations will fund lifesaving research on heart disease and stroke. Heart disease remains the No. 1 cause of death for men and women in the U.S.

“We are thrilled to partner with Team Penske and the American Heart Association to raise awareness for such a meaningful cause,” said Junior Word, division president, Carquest North America. “Cardiovascular health is an important issue that impacts millions each year, including members of the Carquest brand and our family of independent owners. We are looking forward to Austin having a successful race in Talladega while also making an impact through this partnership.”

“It‘s an honor to represent the American Heart Association at Talladega,” said Cindric. “As heart health remains such a serious issue in our country, I‘m glad to play a role in raising awareness and funding to help the American Heart Association with their lifesaving efforts. I am looking forward to racing our Carquest Ford at one of the most exciting tracks on the calendar, and hopefully I can put it in victory lane.”

Cindric will compete in the Sparks 300 at Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday, Oct. 2 (4:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN).
