Brett Moffitt unveiled his Darlington Raceway paint scheme for the upcoming “Throwback Weekend” in May. In a series of tweets, Moffitt provided hints of the scheme before finally posting the graphic and announcing his nod to Hall of Fame racer Mark Martin.
Martin acknowledged the tribute scheme, ran more than 40 years ago, with a follow-up tweet to Moffitt.
“Brett Moffitt this is gorgeous,” Martin wrote. “You don’t know what it means to me.”
As pointed out within the tweet thread, the scheme, a Jolly Rancher sponsored Buick, was originally run in 1982.
