Scott Robert Goyer, 52, of Mooresville, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022.

He was born Jan. 9, 1970, in Troy, N.Y., to the late Carl and Claudette Falkner Goyer. Scott has been a part of NASCAR for 30 years and a shop foreman for 32 years. He spent his entire career with Spraker Racing Enterprise, Inc. in Mooresville. He enjoyed building Hot Rods and components; his life was his work.

AND: Scott Goyer , a team member for Spraker Racing Enterprises for over 30 years, passed away on May 12th after a year-long battle with cancer. Scott joined the organization at their original location in Schenectady, NY and moved with the operation in 2000 when they relocated to Mooresville, NC. He was 52 years old.

Scott was the “right hand man” to team owner Jeff Spraker and was an integral part of the entire operation. As Shop Foreman, he was an exceptional fabricator, welder and gear specialist. He was also part of the “over-the-wall” crew as a tire changer for cars driven by Jeff in the original Busch North Series, the ARCA Series and Xfinity Series – traveling to over 70 tracks, from the bull-rings in New England, to the superspeedways at Daytona and Talladega. Scott was the Car Chief on cars prepared at the Spraker shop for drivers in several premier NASCAR Series and was also the lead fabricator on many award-winning Street Rods built at Spraker Racing Enterprises.
