JR Motorsports partner, Tire Pros, has teamed up with American Tire Distributors (ATD) to support the Gary Sinise Foundation (GSF) and ATD’s Summer for Heroes Giving Campaign, a company-wide initiative that supports American troops, veterans, first responders and their families through unique programs designed to make a difference in the lives of everyday heroes across the country.
As part of the effort, Josh Berry’s Tire Pros Chevrolet will feature special colors representing the Gary Sinise Foundation with the Summer for Heroes logo highlighted on the hood and quarter panels of the race car. The No. 8 Camaro will debut at Watkins Glen International (Aug. 20) and return the following week at Daytona International Speedway (Aug. 26).
“It’s an honor to carry the Gary Sinise Foundation on this No. 8 car,” said Berry. “What the foundation has been able to do for veterans, first responders and their families is so impactful. Hopefully we can help Tire Pros and ATD reach their fundraising goal and celebrate with this car in Victory Lane.”
In 2021, the Summer for Heroes Giving Campaign raised $1 million, which directly supported GSF’s mental health programs, such as Relief and Resiliency, an effort which aims to help veterans and their families before, during and after their service on the battlefield. The funds will also aid the Struggle Well program to support the mental wellness of first responders and the Boulder Crest Foundation, which includes programs like Warrior PATHH retreats to help the nation’s veterans and first responders overcome post-traumatic stress.
“We’re extremely proud to support the Gary Sinise Foundation,” said Greg Bell, president of Tire Pros. “Partnering with JR Motorsports and branding the race car, while being supported by Josh, Dale Jr. and Kelley, means the world to us. They are a great partner, and we’re excited to continue supporting this tremendous cause in the future.”
The funds raised through the Summer for Heroes campaign will continue to support the mental health of the nation’s heroes, as well as provide specially adapted, 100% mortgage-free smart homes for the most severely wounded heroes and their families through GSF’s R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program. These homes are designed to help ease the daily challenges faced due to injuries sustained in combat operations or during training while performing their duties.
The funds raised through the Summer for Heroes campaign will also support the GSF’s Snowball Express program, which supports healing and empowerment programs for spouses and children of fallen heroes.
“Supporting the communities in which we live and work is a core part of ATD’s brand and culture,” said Stuart Schuette, president and CEO at ATD. “Our partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation began in 2019 and we are grateful to see it grow into something bigger each year. I don’t think we can ever do enough to support our military, our veterans and our first responders, but this campaign is a small way that we can show our gratitude.”
This year’s Summer for Heroes Giving Campaign runs through Aug. 31, with the goal to surpass 2021’s fundraising mark. Donate today by visiting www.tirepros.com/donate.
