#5-Dean Thompson was one of four drivers involved in a vicious wreck on lap 146. Thompson‘s battered Toyota took multiple hard hits, first with the wall, followed by two hard hits from other trucks unable to avoid his machine. He climbed from his race truck under his own power before receiving medical assistance. He was awake and alert following the accident, but was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center for further evaluation.

AND: On a late restart, Thompson‘s truck got loose and made contact with the wall, sending him spinning back down the track toward the field. Several trucks made contact with the No. 5, ending in a side-door collision with its passenger-side frame. Thompson was able to exit the truck under his own power but was carried into an ambulance on a stretcher after visible discomfort.

All other drivers involved in the incident were checked and released from the infield care center.
