For the GoodYear 400 Cup race on Sunday, the producers of the broadcast displayed a splendid form of Multiple Personality Disorder. First, there was the wonderful remembrance of mothers everywhere for Mother‘s Day in various spots, including having Susan Chastain leading the Invocation. As Darlington is affectionately known as one of the ‘historical tracks‘, and the season-long celebration of NASCAR‘s 75th anniversary continues, announcers and reporters donned throwback clothes that looked a bit uncomfortable on a warm spring day, and much-loved legends of the sport performed various functions throughout the race. It all combined to make a terrific show for every fan. The broadcast included commercials, too; but there is no getting around that. For those who like to know precisely how many ads there were, and how much time they took during the broadcast, here is this week‘s breakdown.
