Greg Moore, who worked as a team manager in the NASCAR Cup Series for his father, Bud Moore, died Wednesday.

Moore, who lived in Spartanburg, South Carolina, was 67 and had had various health issues for several years.

Moore worked most of his adult life for his father, whose Spartanburg-based Cup team was one of the most successful in the sport. Moore‘s cars won 63 Cup races, and Joe Weatherly won Cup titles for him in 1962 and 1963.

Greg Moore worked beside his father for most of the Ford team‘s long run of success. Daryl Moore, Greg‘s brother, was an engine specialist for the team. Bud Moore sold the team in 1999, but he and Greg remained as consultants for the new owners for part of the next season.

In recent years, Greg Moore had co-hosted a racing radio show.
