Charles William (Charlie Bill) Patterson, 86 of Avon passed away April 10, 2024.

Charlie was born January 29,1938 to the late Elbert and Edna Patterson of Avon Indiana.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 33 years, Victoria Patterson. One Sister, Sharon (Terry) Perry.

Children, Chuck (Teresa) Patterson of Mooresville In. and Debra, who preceded him in death, (Albert) Barnes of Plainfield In.

Charlie‘s life started on the family farm in Avon milking cows, where he returned to and lived until his death. Throughout his life he was heavily involved in all aspects of racing. Charlie was a Mechanic and Car Builder for open wheel race cars including Indy Cars. Over the last thirty years, he became involved in NASCAR to help develop drivers.

Charlie also owned Patterson Driveshafts, for twenty-five years, where he built driveshafts for numerous applications. At the same time, he developed the Street, Gasoline Alley, where he built garages to house racing businesses and Patterson Mini Storage. Together, Charlie and Vicki developed Patterson Woods, a subdivision west of Avon, where they built and sold eight custom homes. Charlie was a member of the Speedway 500 Old-timers Club, and the Hendricks County Antique Tractor and Machinery Association.

A celebration of Life will be held at the Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds, Cartlidge Barn, on Sunday, June 23rd, 2024. At 1:00pm.

Indiana Memorial is honored to serve Charlie and his family.
